Dieses Wochende habe ich im Rahmen einer Expedition des Okinawa- Forschungsclubs, der sich im Volltext stolz "Okinawa Minzoku Bunka Kenkyuu Circle" nennt, einen Ausflug zur Kudaka-jima gemacht. Dank dieses Clubs war es mir ja schon im Herbst möglich geworden, zur Aguni-jima gefahren und mich von der dortigen Landschaft verzaubern lassen - und auch diesesmal habe ich das Aufstehen zu gottlosen Uhrzeiten an einem Samstagmorgen nicht bereut! Okinawa ist so schön. ;___;

Summary: When people are kidnapped and have organs or body parts stolen, the boys have to reopen an old case they thought had been closed by their father years ago... all the while Deam's last days are running out. While Sam tries to help Dean by getting behind the mystery of the current case - the possibility of eternal life - Dean chases Bela to get back the colt and finds out more about her past in the process.

A quick explanation for anyone who hasn't heard about this:

There is a series of novels for Avatar, which - sadly - are retarded OOC retellings of the show's plot written for 8-year-olds at the level of ff.net badfic. I'm not kidding. The suckage of these books is something the ENTIRE Avatar fandom agrees on, however divided we all may be by these terrible ship wars.
As mangled as the plot may be by the godawful writing, it has still always stayed true to the events of the animated series.

As it happens, though, the novelization of the series finale (!), called Sozin's Comet has been released early and already been shipped to people who pre-ordered it.

Seriously, this is so weird! I was searching for Supernatural fanart over at DA, when I happened to find this picture, a copied version of my own (and only) citrus-y Zutara picture from 1 1/2 years ago.

This version depicts a Sam Winchester/Peter Petrelli crossover slash pairing. As random as that may be (guess I can be glad it's not Wincest), I'm not really bothered by it. I'm just endlessly amused by the fact that I seem to have had a hand in creating fanart for a fandom which I only got into a year later.

I'm also amused by the fact that she chose this particular pairing, because Sammy is my favourite in Supernatural, and Peter my favourite in Heroes.

AND I'm amused by the fact that the Zutarian version of this picture got TOS'ed, while the copy is alive and unharmed. Further proof that the DA staff ships Kataang! Boo.

Gestern ist die "Golden Week" zuende gegangen. Als solche wird in Japan eine Ansammlung von Feiertagen bezeichnet, die 250% aller Japaner nutzen, um mit ihren Familien in den Urlaub zu fahren - zum Beispiel nach Okinawa! Wer es also irgendwie vermeiden kann, sollte sich zur Golden Week nicht aus dem Haus bewegen und schon gar nicht irgendwelche Flugreisen anpeilen.

Judging from the summaries, next week will be Bela's last appearance on this show. I really don't know why fandom hates her so much. She's a total bitch, and a real danger to the boys in her way, but awesome as a character. If Kripke decided to get rid of her early because fandom hates her, that would make me sad. Writers bending their stories to fandom's whims - or worse, producers telling writers what to do in order to appeal to more people - always make me sad (yes, that includes Avatar and Zutara fandom ;-)).

Gestern habe ich mit Zuhause telefoniert und aus einigen Äußerungen leichte Anklänge von Missfallen herausgehört über die Tatsache, dass ich zur Zeit ständig ellenlange Fandom- Einträge schreibe, aber kaum noch was über meinen Okinawa- Alltag. :-P

I really enjoy watching Doctor Who... and I liked watching Heroes (when's that coming back, anyway?), but so far, no non-animated series has brought me to the point of writing long-ass entries dissecting each and every single new episode.

That was before Supernatural. Damn you, Supernatural. One of these days, I'm ging to limit my current fandoms to STRICTLY FIVETHOUSAND or something.

Anyway, the long writer's strike induced break is over and including this one, we have four episodes left of season 3. I'm lucky to have found this series so late, because like this, the wait between "Jus in Bello" and "Ghostfacers" was just about two weeks for me. :D

So, "Ghostfacers". DUNDUNDUNDUN, GHOSTFACEEEERSSS!

I've had some time to calm down, so hopefully I'll be able to put my thoughts about the new info into coherent sentences this time. ;-) But first, I have to post this trailer screenshot:

What makes me a little sad is that there was no mention of Iroh in the trailer or anywhere at ALL, and that it is also confirmed there'll be no explanation for his "travel into the spirit world" which was hinted at since season 1. Getting more info on that would have been so awesome! But it probably can't be helped, since Iroh's past is pretty much irrelevant to Aang's quest...

And if we hadn't seen Toph being her usual awesome self in the "Ember Island Players" clip, I would have bitched about how she wasn't in the trailer for more than two seconds, and why she gets ignored so often. Hopefully she'll get to kick some serious ass towards the end. =)

NYCC's Avatar Panel is over and more season 3 spoilers are hitting the net with every minute. I'll collect them in this post - in a squealing, fangirlish and completely Zutara- biased manner. ;D

Oh yeah. About that Zutara thing. Trying to be calm about it, but...

Er ist erbracht - der Beweis, dass durchaus nicht alles immer schlechter als damals wird, sondern sich auch wieder zum Guten wenden kann. Nach drei Jahren ist der Rechtsstreit zwischen dem Europa- und dem Kosmosverlag bei- und die Ersatzserie "Die Dr3i" auf Eis gelegt worden, und Anfang dieses Monats sind gleich zwei neue Folgen der "Drei ???" erschienen ("Spur ins Nichts" und "Der Geisterzug"). Jauchzet, frohlocket; auf, preiset die Tage! ;D

Anlässlich dieser frohen Kunde habe ich mal eine Liste meiner Lieblingsfolgen zusammengestellt:

So in the last weeks I've been following the whole shebang with China, Tibet, the olympic torch tour (or however you'd translate that), the protests in the West and the Chinese reactions...

And it's really getting ridiculous. Funny, even, if it wasn't for the bloodshed in Tibet.

I'm aware that the Olympics are a sports festival that was never meant to carry a political message, that it's just supposed to be a peaceful, fair competition between the participating countries. It might also be true that the current uprising in Tibet was likely caused (staged by few?) because people knew that if there is any chance of getting news coverage all over the world, now would be the time.

Still, I cannot respect a country that cuts away the human rights of its own citizens and is obviously so terrified of freedom (of speech, or merely of anyone forming an own opinion) that it has to control what people look at or write on the internet, and in which news coverage on anything is strictly censored by the government.

I'm not naive enough to think that Western news stations are as free and unbiased as I like to hope. But to claim that they are arbitrarily covering only the Tibetian side of the argument to show China in a bad light and ruin the Olympics is ridiculous. In fact, I have been watching and reading many articles that cover the whole conflict in a very balanced and thoughtful way, which made it actually hard for me to form an opinion.

Otherwise, I'm not sure if I liked this special very much. It was rather weird - a bunch of people sacrificing themselves for no reason, Ten kissing people randomly (kinda OOC since he was so jumpy about romance since Martha fell for him), too much sap even for this series, gaping plot holes (Ten doubling back through doors which were PERMANENTLY SEALED two minutes ago, without even his sonic screwdriver)...
But at least the premise "Space Titanic crashes into Earth" was rather fun, I'll give them that.

On the contrary, the first episode of season 4 was all-around-awesome (okay, Who- style awesome). They made some really nice, new background music for this season, too. ♥
I have to admit I wasn't too keen on Donna becoming the new companion, but now I'd actually prefer her to Rose (who's suddenly back in the picture somehow? Are there more PERMANENTLY SEALED doors which are not quite as permanently sealed?).
Donna is funny and less likely to induce romantic drama, tears or any of that stuff. Which is good, because when Dr. Who goes soap opera on us, it's no fun.

Heh. With the entertaining TV series I've grown to like, the anime spring season starting and the long-running shows I'm still following, there's almost TOO much stuff to watch at the moment! Dammit, classes start again next week! Right now I'm trying to keep track of:

Naruto Shippuuden (Why can't I just quit you? ;__; Oh right, 'cos of Sasuke. Damn pretty Sasuke.)
Bleach (I don't know myself why I keep watching it. Truthfully, it might be solely for glimpses of Rukia and angsty Ulquihimelulzy Emocar moments.)
Zoku Sayounara Zetsubou Sensei (Fansubbers! Please! You only need to sub three more eps!)
xxxHolic Kei (This series might actually have an ongoing PLOT for once? I'm intrigued.)
Kyou Kara Maou (new season, YAY!)
One Piece (OP's pwnage is considerably dimmed in anime format, but still entertaining. Also, Thriller Bark!)
Robin Hood (which is in fact not an ongoing series, but the batch torrent of season 2 is so slow, it sure feels like it)
Supernatural (although maybe I should stop watching this, because when I went for a walk to the convenience store past midnight today, I got a little scared of walking around in the darkness on a deserted road. Thanks a lot for destroying my confidence, Winchester brats, I used to have a very Pratchettian approach to all scary bogeymans before your series came along. -__-)
Blue Dragon - Tenkai no Shichi Ryuu (I wasn't going to watch this since Zola isn't in it and I pretty much watched the first season only for Zola... but the premise is actually more interesting than I gave it credit for. Will keep watching.)
Noein (Not a new series, but sounded interesting. Haven't gotten past episode 1 yet, though.)

I, uh... I really like Supernatural. ;___;

I can't help it, this series is just right up my alley. I can spot every little plot/character detail that the producers put in there to reel in fangirls like me, and I should feel exploited or chain-yanked, but... AWW MAN, I'm just a sucker for action/adventure/horror/fantasy. I like long-winded episodic series tied loosely together by a main plot.

And like everybody and their mother, I'm a total sucker for the Winchester boys. (No, not in the slash sense - slashing siblings creeps the hell outta me, personally, although I've come to understand that "Wincest" is what makes the fandom for this series so large and active.)
But I love the contrasting characters of Sam and Dean, and their "you're a fucking asshole, but I'll still beat the crap out of anyone who harms you" interaction makes me sniffle and laugh so hard. They are so funny and dorky and caring and arkfsgflgrk!
It irks me. I know exactly that the writers are pushing the audience's buttons less-than-subtle, but still - so much love! ♥

Oh yes, and the series also had a Doctor Who reference in that season 2 bank robbery episode. That makes it a winner in MY book. =D

Off to hunt for season three. ♥
